- Sir L. A. Shah Law College is the oldest law college in the entire State of Gujarat imparting quality legal education since the year 1927 having bright alumnus at the Supreme Court as well as High Courts of different states.
- Sir L. A. Shah Law College has the distinction of giving to the Judiciary, the Bar, Universities, Administration and business as well as industries great luminaries. Alumnus of the college have adorned the Bench of the Supreme Court of India as well as the High Courts and have scaled peaks in various walks of the life.
- Sir L. A. Shah Law College is the first law college having Research Center in law offering Ph.D. Programme in Law having two Ph.D. Guides at the College.
- As per the survey made by a reputed law magazine “Lawyers’ Update” in the year 2010-11, Sir L. A. Shah Law College was given 23rd rank among all the three years’ law colleges of India.
- Sir L. A. Shah Law College is the only law college in the Gujarat University offering LL.B., LL.M.(Business Law Group) and Ph.D. Programme in law.
- The lectures in procedural laws and practical courses are engaged by the visiting faculty members, (who are Senior Advocates) based upon the Case law study method, problem posing methods as well as group discussion methodsusing ICT facilities.
- To equip the law students by giving them intensive practical training by organizing various moot court competitions.
- With the help of visiting faculty, who are practising advocates in various courts, the students are trained to appear at the internal moot court competitions at the college. The best students are selected to participate at various inter collegiate Moot Court Competitions organized by the Bar Council of India and other authorities/Institutions.
- Sir L. A. Shah Law College is organizing various lectures of leading academicians, jurists, judges and senior lawyers to benefit the students. And various state level workshops as well as seminars for the law colleges.
- In the memory of eminent advocate Shri I. M. Nanavati, the college every year organizes Late Shri I. M. Nanavati Inter Law Collegiate Moot Court Competition.
- In order to appraise the students about their social responsibilities, the college also organizes Legal Literacy Camps imparting basic legal information to illiterate, poor and women.
- Regular academic visits to Permanent Legal Aid Clinic, Courts, Tribunals and Forensic Science Laboratory, Gandhinagar are organized for the law students in order to enrich their knowledge.
- The talented students are sent for the practical training at the reputed legal firms and IPR firms by the college.
